Blog Post #8

Dear Ms. Cline,

I feel that I have been doing well this semester with keeping up with my school work and completing everything on time. So far in this class my biggest challenge has been the essay assignments because I am having a hard time breaking it down and finding a lot of supporting examples to write about. My biggest successes in this class have been completing my work and staying on top of my classes because I am taking a couple of online classes and in class classes so I have a heavy work load but I have good time management. The readings in class have been pretty difficult, I didn't like the Bartleby reading what so ever, I thought it was boring and I wasn't engaged in it. But, I do like the Modest Proposal because it was interesting and different from anything I've ever read. Literary analysis is different from any other wiring assignment in English because I really have to get to the root of the story and break it down. It's like a puzzle, you have to take it apart and analyze all the pieces and then put it back together again. I feel like in a lot of my other english classes it's more of on the surface assignment and it didn't require me to get to the root of the story and analyze everything then put it back together. My goals for the second half of the session is to become a better writer over all and take more time to do my essays, and take advantage of the learning center. I want to improve my writing and get better grades on my essays. But overall I think I had a great start to the first half of the session and I want to finish this course with an A.

Sincerely,
Jasmine Solley

  1. I agree that analysis is like a puzzle. I find it interesting that you can't find enough examples because I am the opposite, I can find some many examples but not necessarily use my own words enough of the time. I wish you all the best in this class for the rest of the semester :)
